February 25, 2021 - The Government of Saskatchewan has renewed the Saskatchewan Tourism Sector Support Program (STSSP) and the Saskatchewan Small Business Emergency Payment Program (SSBEP).

Saskatchewan Tourism Sector Support Program (STSSP)

Within the renewed STSSP, two streams of funding are now available to support tourism businesses that have been significantly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Applications will be accepted starting March 8, 2021.

More information on the STSSP 2 can be found here.

Saskatchewan Small Business Emergency Payment Program (SSBEP)

Phase 2 of the SSBEP has been established to provide financial assistance to small businesses that have been ordered to temporarily close or substantially curtail operations due to a public health order.

Financial assistance includes a payment of up to $5,000 for December 2020, January, February and/or March 2021 that can be used for any purpose.

Additional information can be found here.

February 5, 2021 - Western Economic Diversification Canada has expanded the Regional Relief and Recovery Fund (RRRF).

New applicants to the RRRF can now request up to $60,000 in interest-free, repayable support, up from $40,000 previously. Existing RRRF recipients can now apply for additional funding of up to $20,000, if they continue to suffer eligible COVID-19-related losses.

With many travel and public health restrictions in place, Western Canada’s tourism sector has been particularly hard-hit by the pandemic. This is why a minimum of 25 percent of RRRF funding across Canada is earmarked for local tourism-related businesses and organizations to help them to be ready for an eventual recovery of the industry.

Find additional information on the updated program here.

January 26, 2021 - The Government of Canada announced the launch of the Highly Affected Sectors Credit Availability Program (HASCAP).

HASCAP is available to businesses across the country, in all sectors, that have been hit hard by the pandemic. This includes restaurants, businesses in the tourism and hospitality sectors, and those that rely on in-person services.

More information on the program can be found here.

January 7, 2021 The Government of Saskatchewan has extended the deadline for applications to the Re-Open Saskatchewan Training Subsidy.

Applications are now being accepted until March 31, 2021.

More information on the program can be found here.

December 7, 2020 The Government of Saskatchewan announced the Strong Recovery Adaptation Rebate (SRAR). The program reimburses eligible small businesses in Saskatchewan for one-time, incremental expenses they have incurred to adapt their business model to operating during the COVID-19 pandemic.
