ECONOMIC RECONCILIATION: A KEY TO BUSINESS GROWTH IN REGINA
As Regina’s business community looks to the future, it’s important to recognize a group that has been integral to our economy for centuries: Indigenous peoples. Long before Canada’s formation, Indigenous communities were the first entrepreneurs, driving the fur trade and creating extensive trade networks. Their contributions laid the groundwork for the thriving economy we have today, and their role in business remains just as important now as it was then.

Regina will host the Can-Am Police-Fire Games in August 2028, following a successful bid in a competitive selection process. This multi-sport, Olympic-style event will welcome thousands of athletes and their families from across North America for an exciting display of athleticism, skill, and camaraderie.
TONY PLAYTER RESIGNS AS CHAMBER CEO, EFFECTIVE NOV. 30
Tony Playter announced on Tuesday, September 3 that he will be stepping down as the Chief Executive Officer of the Regina & District Chamber of Commerce as of Nov. 30, 2024. Tony was named interim CEO of the Chamber in January 2022 and was hired CEO on July 1, 2022.

BANK OF CANADA CUTS KEY INTEREST RATE
The Bank of Canada announced this morning that the key interest rate has been reduced to 4.75 per cent.
