The Liberal government is currently preparing for the next federal budget and is offering Canadians the chance to participate in pre-budget consultations.
This is an opportunity for businesses in Regina to express their concerns and priorities regarding the Canadian economy. By participating in this platform, local businesses can take part in shaping the economic landscape and ensuring that local interests are considered in national economic planning.
Canada is currently dealing with several economic challenges including inflation, looming U.S. tariffs, soaring food prices and the rising costs of goods and services. By being proactive, local businesses will demonstrate that they are responsible and invested in their community. Engagement with the government indicates the commitment and determination by local business to play a role in overcoming the current financial obstacles.
For Budget 2025, it’s important that the government recognizes the significance of fiscal sustainability and commitment to long-term economic growth and job creation. By collecting data through the pre-budget consultations, the government will be able to respond to concerns of Canadians, getting direction on the shape of Budget 2025.
The consultation is now open until Monday, March 10. Canadians can participate in the process by completing an online questionnaire or by sending in a formal submission. The online questionnaire can be accessed by clicking HERE.
The input from the pre-budget consultations will be shared with the Minister of Finance and Finance Canada.
