Jason Dittmann, the current Past Chair of the Regina & District Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, received an honorary degree from Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Regina campus, on Tuesday, June 11.
Jason, President and owner of MicroAge Regina, was presented with an honorary degree in Applied Sciences at the convocation ceremonies at the Conexus Arts Centre.
Honorary degree recipients are recognized for cultivating an educational environment focused on applied learning and innovative research to empower a better Saskatchewan and inspire success in every learning journey.
“We are proud to recognize Jason’s exceptional professional and community accomplishments and extend our heartfelt congratulations on this well-deserved honour,” said Dr. Larry Rosia, Sask Polytech president and CEO. “Jason is an exemplary role model for IT professionals, and community leaders, and his dedication to business and industry, and to the Regina sports community is truly inspiring. His leadership with the Regina & District Chamber of Commerce has had a significant impact on our province.”
Jason began his information technology (IT) career in 2000 and under his leadership, MicroAge Regina has grown into a highly respected IT services company across North America. Ranked as one of the top 50 Managed IT Providers in Canada for seven consecutive years, MicroAge also received the 2018 Paragon Award for Regina Business of the Year.
Jason is also dedicated to the community, having volunteered with the Regina & District Chamber of Commerce for over 15 years.
“Jason is well deserving of this award. He is a community leader and a champion of business,” said Tony Playter, CEO of the Regina & District Chamber of Commerce. “His dedication, leadership and expertise has played a significant role in the success of the Chamber.”
