TONY PLAYTER RESIGNS AS CHAMBER CEO, EFFECTIVE NOV. 30

Tony Playter announced on Tuesday, September 3 that he will be stepping down as the Chief Executive Officer of the Regina & District Chamber of Commerce as of Nov. 30, 2024. Tony was named interim CEO of the Chamber in January 2022 and was hired CEO on July 1, 2022.

Tony has been a driving force behind the Chamber’s success and growth over the past three years, and his departure marks the end of a significant chapter for the organization.

He has been instrumental in enhancing the Chamber’s role in the community, advocating for local businesses, and spearheading numerous initiatives that have contributed to the economic development of Regina and its surrounding areas. Under his leadership, the Chamber has experienced remarkable growth and has strengthened its position as a key advocate for the business community.

Throughout his tenure, Tony has been known for his visionary leadership, strategic insight, and unwavering dedication to fostering a vibrant business environment. His efforts have led to increased membership engagement, successful policy advocacy, and the implementation of a Business First environment.

The Board of Directors of the Regina & District Chamber of Commerce extends its heartfelt thanks to Tony for his exceptional leadership and contributions.

“Tony has been instrumental in focusing the Chamber of Commerce on core business values that our membership depends on,” said Kyle Addison, Chair of the RDCC Board of Directors.  “He has transformed the organization to being Business First.  On behalf of the Board of Directors and the membership at large, we would like to thank Tony for his service.”

The Chamber will begin the process of recruiting a new CEO in the coming days.
